A sweet, maybe 8 year old, little girl came to the front desk yesterday and asked,


"Ya know that class where you decorate shirts? Is it okay if we use a wife-beater?"

I laughed right out loud and she looked at me like I was crazy.....too funny...

some people are too blind to see...

Yesterday at a family picnic my dad went on a rant about fb...


"I don't undersatnd facebook, people go on there and write,

 "I got a DWI last night and f#@*ed my neighbor!!"

I guess he's been reading his wife's page...

Goodbye little girl...

Today is the last day of seventh grade for our little girl. Next year is the big 8 and all that that entails...boys, drama, volleyball, drama, broken friendships, drama...

I am not looking forward to it. She has grown into a beautiful, kind, gentle girl and I hate to see it change.

I knew when I had her that this day would come. I would loose mommy’s little girl, if only for awhile, until the teen angst years passed. Then comes the years of regret and sorrow for the horrible way she treated me.

I know the girl she is inside, so while she is this “other girl” the one her friends want her to be, I will just have to wait...

So Busy, But Nothing Happens

What has kept me so involved that I can’t sit down and type out a few words? Well, a 13th birthday, Easter and an early season camping trip have eaten up our days.

My sweet faced baby is a teen and there is no going back to those baby days. We took 7 girls out to dinner and a movie. The amount of money spent was astonishing.

We combined Easter and a camping trip, when an early April weekend reached an unbelievable 80 degrees.

I participated in a swap at Just One Miss. It was called The Dollar $$ Store Challenge. The idea was to go to a $1 store and spend $20 on different, random, fun items to send to your recipient. I had such fun shopping and packing my big box of goodies!! I did get it mailed out late, which is typical for me. The shipping to California was twice the price of the contents, but I know she will love everything!!!

Also typical for me, the box I received was not even worth a photograph. It was a package of cheap pens, some broken fridge magnets, some of her kids Easter candy and a set of fish S&P shakers...

I have not done one of these in years because they are usually so disappointing, but this one sounded fun.  I won’t try again.

We are on Spring Break around here this week. Our exotic locale is the backyard, where yard raking and raspberry planting await!

When you live in a section of the country where it is witch-tit cold 5 or 6 months out of the year, you learn to enjoy what you get.

It was 40 degrees yesterday, that means it’s time to pull out the gas grill and the lawn chairs and have a picnic!

 

And you know that picnic includes snowmobiles and hot tubs...
