the grind...

My extra long weekend is over and it’s back to work today. I managed to do very little with my 4 solid days of laziness, except work on Parcheesi.

I did do a little sweeping, some laundry did get washed, I even managed to go to the grocery store and make a few good dinners. I spent time snuggling my loves and reading too.

All in all...a very good few days.

{{a moment in words}}

Outside my window…
A dark and cold night

I am thankful for…
An extra day to my weekend for doing nothing at all

From the kitchen…
Snickerdoodles made my 13 year old chef

I am wearing…
Jeans and a tee shirt

I am going…
To bed in 15 minutes or maybe sooner

I am hoping…
For a long night of uninterrupted sleep

One of my favorite things…
This Parcheesi blanket I am working on

A few plans for the upcoming week…
Picking up my new glasses and celebrating my fathers retirement

Mystery Diagnosis

When it comes to strange disease and parasites living in secret corners of our bodies I am so IN to it!!!  I am sure I have every disease they investigate on this show! The kid and I love to watch and guess what the poor people have.

I have my own mystery disease going on right here at home:

  • I think about it all the time, even when I should be sleeping or paying attention to what my husband is telling me.
  • I work on it all the time. I pick it up whenever I can. At red lights or between loads of laundry.
  • I wonder how I can get more of it and crawl through web sites looking for more, more, more.

Just like on the show I have exhausted all possibilities and come to this conclusion...

I am addicted to my log cabin squares. I am so in love with my Parcheesi I feel sick. Thanks Vicki, for infecting me. I guess you didn’t realize you were contagious.

I am going to need 12 steps to get over this one, for sure.

Send help...and more Silky Wool...

What a tool...

"We are losing this country Bill and do you want to know why? Because the kids are in the den watching porn with their parents, that's why."

Actual libray patron comment to the Chris Lee situation...priceless

Bunny Lust

I have done everything in my power to win this bunny. I have tweeted, blogged, facebooked and begged. It’s in the hands of the random numbers generator now…

snow/sick day

All day yesterday every TV station was talking about the storm of the century that was heading straight for us, snowmageddon was the word they used.

In the stupid weathermen’s defense, we have had a lot of snow this year. It has been a winter more like the kind we use to have when I was a kid. Snow has fallen almost everyday, even if it was just a little.

But today all hell was supposed to break loose. They had big maps showing the dangerous storms path. They started closing things last night before anything even started. My husband got the generator out, filled the oil lamps and went to the store for milk and bread. We were ready!

It was like Christmas Eve, no one could even sleep we were so excited for the storm. We woke up to no more snow than we have had all winter...kind of a let down.

But they had already closed everything, so a snow day it is! I am still super sick so I’ll take it.

I’m sending the kid out to shovel...

28 Days

I am sick.

Stuffy, drippy, headachy sick.

What’s worse is I think I have given it to the husband and the kid.

We are going to have total world collapse here very soon.

There will be no one to man the ship.

It’s going to get post-apocolyptic...
